Show Notes

Hello you, it’s time for your regular collective mugging off from Nick and Jon. This “week” Jon’s deaf cat gets in the mix early and often, so be ready to turn down the volume on your Acoustic Veteran ERLs. We discuss things that happened at Butlins which were supposed to stay at Butlins, Nick confesses intimate secrets about his love of the band Feeder, Jon still doesn’t know the words, and we mourn the inevitable loss of (just one of) Nick’s Apple AirPods. *Please remember to physically press the like button* ## Other stuff you won't read * Donate to [Shelter](https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/runnerpod). * Join our [Strava club](https://www.strava.com/clubs/runnerpod) and track runs with us. * Go to [runnerpod.com](http://www.runnerpod.com) where you can look through old episodes, read show notes and blog posts. * If you have any comments, questions or thoughts please tweet us [@runnerpod](http://www.twitter.com/runnerpod) or you can email us [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). The Woke XI

Live from the echo chamber, Nick and Jon are back and woker than ever. This week we refine our sales pitch which can now be delivered by bike. We go deep on follow up, set some challenging goals, and go back to the drawing board on fitness watches. Nick has ordered new headphones, Jon just needs to try harder, and we wait for our advertising plans to go “woooosh” and _literally_ let all the air in. ## Show notes * Graeme Le Saux was often cast as an outsider within football for his _Guardian_[reading sensibilities and "sensitive" nature](https://www.theguardian.com/football/1999/may/15/newsstory.sport10). WrestleMania, running to survive

Just like that, just like that, we're here to chat shit about fitness, running and tech. This "week" we teach you a life hack to be Andy Serkis on the cheap and get our excuses in for a series of terrible runs. We refuse to apologise for an extended chat about JavaScript, Nick does some ERL learning the hard way, Jon has no mates on Strava, and we almost certainly over promise on the show notes (which none of you read anyway). - [Pronation, explained](https://www.runnersworld.com/running-shoes/pronation-explained) - [Gait analysis](https://www.runnersneed.com/expert-advice/gear-guides/gait-analysis.html) - [Footbalance custom insoles](https://www.footbalance.com/) - [Vue.js](https://vuejs.org/) - [The Mania Half](http://themaniahalf.co.uk/) results are in - [Jon's WrestleMania ear worm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv_hYvj_g3w) - [Vote for us in this nonsense](http://www.britishpodcastawards.com/vote) just like [Jillian did](https://twitter.com/runnerpod/status/985282970402590721?s=09) - Be [Jon's friend on Strava](https://www.strava.com/athletes/jonhickman). He's desperate. - [You Don't Look Like a Runner is now a club on Strava](https://www.strava.com/clubs/445740) because obviously. ...

Get it done before the clap

Failing to read the country's mood, we met up once again to talk about fitness, running and tech. Nick has found a new dead format to worry about, Jon is putting it all on the plate, and we offer up a hot take on Zoom calls. Remember, if you don't use lockdown to learn a language, write that novel or work on your side hustle you're probably just trying to keep going as best as you can in pretty testing circumstances and in all honestly that's as worth clapping as anything else going on right now. You're doing great and we're proud of you. This week's links: * Nick bought a [Kano](https://kano.me/uk/store/products/computer-kit). It's probably worth looking for on ebay as the novelty wears of fast. * Tbh the Kano is a Raspbery Pi with bells on, so maybe just get one of those and get the same benefit of a one hour diversion for the kids for a few quid... Nick could use [this kit to make a speaker for his NFC cards](https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/pirate-radio-pi-zero-w-project-kit). What a talking point that would be. * He also got a [Yoto speaker](https://www.yotoplay.com/) which he swears is worth it. * Jon isn't on Twitter except for when he does [this](https://twitter.com/jonhickman/status/1254428473805987840). ...
